Competitions at Gleneagles Equestrian School
Gleneagles Equestrian School runs summer and winter leagues in both combined training and dressage. The competitions run each month, usually on a Thursday evening from about 5pm. We pride ourselves on offering a warm, friendly atmosphere with lots of help available for those who need it!
Combined training consists of taking part in a dressage test and then jumping a course of showjumps. Your combined score for both parts gives you your overall result, and place. However we appreciate that not everyone who enjoys jumping likes dressage and vice versa, so we also allow people to take part in either the dressage or the jumping, running them as pure competitions with placings too!
These unaffiliated competitions are a great way to build confidence, for both horse and riders! Jane Cepok, Events Manager, is always on hand to come into the showjumping arena and lower back rails for a confidence boosting first round. Classes starts at 70cm and go up to 1m.
Gleneagles run unaffiliated dressage competitions every month. There is a summer and a winter league, so you can take part every month and try to win the league, or just come as and when suits you. There are tests for all abilities from Preliminary all the way up to PSG. There is plenty of room to warm up and although it’s self stewarding there are lots of people round to help, and classes usually run very well to time so you won’t spend hours standing round. Jane is always willing to allocate suitable times if you have more than one horse to ride, or need to get away early or arrive late, as long as she has plenty of warning!
