Gleneagles Townhouse

Announcing our very own bespoke whisky, produced by our neighbours, The Glenturret

Glenturret Gleneagles Whisky Bottle

Established in 1763, The Glenturret is regarded as Scotland’s oldest working distillery, with an enduring passion to create moments to treasure in spirit and glass. When Gleneagles opened just a few miles from the distillery almost 200 years later, it was dubbed the Palace in the Glen and the Riviera in the Highlands, and we have aspired to lead the way with innovation ever since.

We are delighted to share the news of our very first Gleneagles single malt produced by our neighbours, The Glenturret. With a focus on our shared locality and bringing alive the true spirit of what we both represent – Scottish at heart, exceptional quality and unstuffy luxury – The Glenturret will produce 750 bottles per year of this special whisky.

We worked closely with The Glenturret’s Whisky Maker, Bob Dalgarno over the last year to curate all elements of the product. The 11 Years Old single malt has sweet tasting notes of toffee, cinnamon and vanilla alongside aromatic flavours of dark spice, rich fruit cake and warm ginger, reminiscent of fireside evenings at Gleneagles.

Our Hotel Manager, Daniel Baernreuther, said: “We have always been committed to working with the finest Scottish food and drink producers, but when the opportunity arose to work with our close neighbours at The Glenturret to create our own limited-edition product, we jumped at the chance. There have been so many changes over the last few years at Gleneagles. As a natural progression and evolution of our beverage and whisky program, creating our own whisky was the next logical step, because of our shared location, I feel like this is really a match made in whisky heaven.”

Hearing from John Laurie, Managing Director of The Glenturret: “We are truly excited about this project. The Glenturret is Scotland’s oldest working distillery, and really important to Scottish history and heritage; and Gleneagles is such an icon of hospitality, that we sincerely felt there was something special to be celebrated here.”

Bound together by geography, this limited release bottling represents all that we share: warm welcomes, lively gatherings, happy memories and special stories from the heart of Perthshire.

Each 70cl bottle will be hand-numbered and is now available to purchase in our dedicated whisky boutique, The Still Room, or enjoyed by the glass in the Century Bar and American Bar. We look forward to sharing this special whisky with you.

Due to extremely high demand since launch, we sadly no longer have any bottles for sale in The Still Room. The 2022 release is available to enjoy by dram at the hotel’s Century and American Bar.
