Set by the ‘lochan’ – a small loch – on our neighbouring Gleneagles Estate, two state-of-the-art domes have been installed to give up to four guests a unique Gleneagles experience in the wilderness.
By the Lochan

We have partnered with one of the country’s most prominent distilleries, The Macallan, to launch a series of luxury wilderness experiences.

Guests will don their wellies and head out on the old Glen Devon drovers walking route, home to magnificent views over the Gleneagles Estate. Accompanied by a guide, they’ll have the opportunity to learn about the history of Scotland’s ancient drovers’ roads – dating back to 1359 – before arriving in bucolic surrounds at the pods, by the lochan. Alternatively, guests have the option to hop in a Gleneagles Defender departing from the front of the hotel with a short journey time of around 10 minutes.

Afternoon experience
Guests are greeted by a bottle of Champagne on arrival followed by a luxury picnic of treats. A trio of Macallan cocktails have all been specially curated to accompany and celebrate the Scottish surrounds and will be available for guests to help themselves to as they wish. Next, guests are invited to stroll over to the second pod where an array of self-guided botany & birdwatching books, all dedicated to the local area, are on hand, alongside some binoculars, to help guests truly relax, away from the distractions of everyday life.

The 'gloaming’ experience
Begin the evening with a hot toddy hipflask on route and get ready to make the most of the dark skies of Perthshire with a self-guided stargazing experience, or simply enjoy a ‘wee dram’ while playing board games, with a laid-back soundtrack played through a personal sound system. Charcuterie and cheese, paired with a range of Macallan drams from the Malt Vault, is the perfect accompaniment to the evening.
