Edinburgh’s Most Glorious Sunday Gathering
Once a month, The Spence comes alive for a whole day and night of dining, flowing drinks and unapologetic indulgence. Sunday Feast is bigger than a Sunday roast and better than a classic brunch: a social occasion that unfolds across the Townhouse, where every room brings something new, every trolley adds a little theatre and the unexpected is all part of the fun.
Running from 12pm–7.30pm on the last Sunday of every month, it’s an occasion made for gathering your favourite people, giving in to temptation and seeing where the day takes you.

Reservations are now open for August’s feast, with sittings from 12pm and our final tables at 7.30pm. Gather your favourite people – bookings are available for parties of up to six.

Take a look inside
Start with a Bellini
Every great Sunday deserves a proper beginning. As you arrive, we will prepare your Bellini tableside from our dedicated Bellini trolley.
Choose from White Peach, Strawberry Rossini, or Blood Orange, with a non-alcoholic option available if preferred. Looking to make an occasion of it? Upgrade to a Royal Bellini, made with Veuve Clicquot poured from a magnum. For something more on the savoury side, our build-your-own Bloody Mary station awaits.
A Room Dedicated to Cheese & Charcuterie
Follow the feast into The Telling Rooms, where an entire room is devoted to cheese, charcuterie and all the accompaniments worthy of the occasion.
Expect beautifully sliced Jamón Ibérico, Bresaola and Coppa, carved on the Berkel, alongside generous wedges of Colston Bassett Stilton, Tunworth and Baked Camembert. Complete your plate with breads, chutneys, dried fruits, grapes and everything you need to build a plate worth returning for.
A Feast Made to Explore
Back in The Spence, generous buffet tables piled high bring together the best of land and sea. From whole crab, langoustines and mussels to freshly baked pork pies, haggis sausage rolls and vibrant seasonal salads, allowing you to build your plate exactly as you like (and giving you plenty of encouragement to go back for more!) And, because no feast was ever made worse by caviar, our roaming trolley will be making the rounds.
Meanwhile, your main course is prepared fresh to order by our kitchen, combining the generosity of a proper Sunday roast with the quality and creativity you’d expect from The Spence.
Save Room for Dessert
Just when you think you’ve seen it all, another room awaits. The Dessert Room is dedicated entirely to sweet endings, with an ever-changing selection of indulgent creations and more than a few reasons to revisit.
There’s also an Espresso Martini station, where bartenders shake Classic, White and non-alcoholic versions to order – the ideal cue to keep the afternoon going.
Expect the Unexpected
Sunday Feast is about more than what’s on the plate. From afternoon to evening, moments of theatre appear when you least expect them, while the entertainment changes with every gathering. DJs, pianists, acoustic musicians and roaming performers bring their own energy to the Townhouse, ensuring no two Sundays unfold in quite the same way.
