Based in The Snug in the heart of the hotel, our Playground Planners help guests make the most of their stay. From arranging falconry lessons and beauty treatments to dining reservations or arranging a babysitter to give adults some alone time, they can create completely bespoke itineraries for families. They do recommend being prepared for the weather before venturing into Perthshire’s wild and untamed landscape!
With over 50 outdoor activities, a fully-supervised children’s holiday programme and a breath-taking 850-acre estate to explore, Gleneagles provides families with many different ways to experience the great outdoors, spend time together, have fun, try something new, or learn a skill. While the adults get behind the wheel of our 4×4 vehicles to tackle rugged Highland trails, younger once get a chance to ride in their very own scaled-down Land Rover replica. Or head on a family fishing experience, where we can arrange a delicious picnic to be enjoyed on the bank of the river with the kids’ favourite treats and even a bottle of champagne for the grownups, so everyone is kept happy!
Everything we do is designed for the whole family to enjoy, and that includes our restaurants. The adults might be indulging in decadent food and cocktails, while the wee ones are enjoying our children’s menus in The Birnam Brasserie and The Dormy, so even the fussiest of our little guests can enjoy themselves. From half–size portions and plates of family food, to our ice cream cart and even our pick and mix sweeties in The Garden Café – we want it to feel like a Glorious Playground for our youngsters as much as we do for the adults.
We’ve got a fantastic range of complimentary activities and adventures. Little Glen, our crèche for 2-9 year olds, is a fun play environment with an indoor treehouse, toy campfire, play stables and a mini Gleneagles railway carriage. The Den is our hangout space for older children, which is filled with loads of interactive play resources – from PS4s, Xboxes and air hockey, to traditional games. There is a beautiful new kitchen garden, where families can learn more about wildlife and discover some of the fresh herbs, flowers and vegetables that our chefs use in our menus; our Pashley bikes which the whole family can use to explore the estate; and we’ve got a range of local walks through some of the world’s most beautiful countryside on our doorstep.
