Join our Master Sommelier, Matteo Montone, as he focuses on a new wine region each month. Matteo is one of only 290 Master Sommeliers in the world, giving us a rare opportunity to learn from the very best in the industry. Bottles of red from Burgundy will begin the series in January, with guests invited to join us in one of our luxurious private dining spaces to enjoy a brief overview that covers climate, geology and topography, and how these factors influence grape growing and wine styles. We’ll also discuss microclimates and delve into the journey that runs from region through to village and vineyard.
During each session we will uncover the supplier stories behind each of the featured bottles presented by Matteo. Delving deeper into the winemaker stories, their own special vineyard practices and particular approaches to production, as well as the DNA of the wine itself, tasting notes, insights and pairing suggestions.
Towards the end of the evening, there’ll be time for questions, where lively discussion will get to the bottom of your queries, uncovering opinions and anecdotes along the way, we’re sure.
With six tastings per session, your own dedicated notebook in which to gather your thoughts and a modular structure that will help build your knowledge month-on-month, this is a series for the incurably curious.
